Help for Members Impacted by Hurricanes in Louisiana

July 25, 2019
We’re taking steps to help our members and emergency personnel impacted by hurricanes in Louisiana.

If you live in Acadia, Allen, Ascension, Assumption, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Catahoula, Concordia, E. Baton Rouge, Evangeline, E. Feliciana, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Lafourche, Livingston, Orleans, Ouachita, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, Rapides, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, St. Tammany, Tangipahoe, Terrebonne, Vermillion, Vernon, Washington, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana or any other counties that subsequently declared an emergency due to dangerous and damaging conditions, by the president of the United States or such any other officer acting under his authority, here’s what you should know:

  • If you have an Anthem prescription drug plan you can get up to a 30-day emergency refill of their medications at any pharmacy now. This also applies to members who are emergency personnel activated by their state and local agency who do not reside in the impacted county.
Relaxed guidelines are in effect from July 10 through August 10, 2019 for impacted members in the Louisiana counties listed above. They apply to members with Anthem group or individual and family health plans. They do not apply to Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan members, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Medicare Part D plans - these programs have their own specific guidelines.
