Help for Members Impacted by the Winter Storm Emergency in New York
March 15, 2023We are making temporary changes to health plan benefits to provide relief for members who live in New York and are impacted by the winter storm emergency. The changes are in effect from March 13, 2023, through April 11, 2023, for the following counties in New Nork:
Albany, Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Columbia, Cortland, Delaware, Dutchess, Essex, Fulton, Greene, Hamilton, Herkimer, Lewis, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, Onondaga, Ontario, Orange, Oswego, Otsego, Putnam, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Schuyler, Seneca, Sullivan, Tioga, Tompkins, Ulster, Warren, Washington, Wayne, Yates, and contiguous counties
The changes also apply to emergency responders who have been activated by their state or local agency, but who do not live in the impacted area.

We are available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET. We can help with finding available doctors, refilling prescription drugs, and other health plan questions.
Health plan changes during the emergency: Prescription refills
- If your Anthem plan covers your prescription medications, you can receive up to a 30-day emergency refill at any pharmacy now, even if it’s not in your plan’s network.
- If you use Anthem’s mail-order pharmacy and your address changed, call us at 833-285-4030 so we can make sure to send your medicine to the right place.

These changes are for members with Anthem group health plans through their employers, and Anthem individual and family plans. These changes are not for Medicaid, Medicare, Medicare Part D, or Medicare Advantage plans or for Federal Employee Health Benefit Plans or fully insured trust funds. These plans have their own guidelines.
