Health Insurance Costs in California
Deductible
This is the set amount you pay out of pocket each year before your plan starts paying for a percentage of covered care. However, in network preventive services are still covered before the deductible is met.
Copays & coinsurance
A copay is a set amount that you pay out of pocket for each visit to an in network health care provider. Coinsurance is the amount you pay for covered health care services after you have reached the deductible.
Out of pocket maximum
The out of pocket maximum is the most you will have to pay out of your pocket for covered health services each year.
